gas leak test question

I am puzzled about the gas leak test.  AFter I clean the pilot light assembly and reconnect the tube to the gas vavle, the soap test shows no leak.  But when I try to light the pilot, I see bubbles forming in where the tube connects to the gas valve.  Not huge bubbles.

One friend (a handyman) said this is normal.  Is that right?  Thanks for your input.
