A man fatally shot eight children and seriously injured two women in Louisiana on Sunday morning during a domestic dispute, authorities said.

The Shreveport Police Department identified the shooter as Shamar Elkins, the father of at least seven of the children who were killed. Elkins was killed by police later Sunday after a car chase, the department said.
