Iran denies it targeted UK’s military base on Diego Garcia

A senior Iranian official has told Al Jazeera that Iran is not responsible for the missile attacks on Diego Garcia and is not behind them.

Diego Garcia, which is around 4,000km (2,500 miles) from Iranian territory, is one of two bases the UK has allowed the US to use for “defensive operations” in its war against Iran.
