Trump says he is "thinking" of taking over Strait of Hormuz
President Donald Trump said in an interview with CBS News on Monday that his administration is “thinking” of taking over the Strait of Hormuz.
The president reportedly told CBS News that the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most critical energy chokepoints, carrying roughly a fifth of global oil shipments — is open but that the White House is still “thinking about taking it over.”
Oil prices have sharply spiked since the beginning of the war with Iran and are hovering around $100 per barrel.
