In American law enforcement, follow-up shots (2nd, 3rd, or more) are not automatically considered "okay" just because the first shot was justified. While police are trained to shoot until the threat is neutralized, each shot must be defensible under the legal standard of "objective reasonableness" established by Graham v. Connor.
