My name is Wendee Crowley, and I was honored to call Renee Nicole not only a friend but a sister. What happened to her on that fateful day broke my heart and shattered all those who knew her. I want to share her story, not just as a remembrance, but as a call for justice, for the life of an innocent soul who was stolen from us too soon.

 

 

 

 

A Bright Light Taken Too Soon

 

Renee Nicole was more than just a friend — she was a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. With her infectious laugh, her boundless kindness, and her unwavering strength, she touched so many hearts. Her ability to make others feel seen and loved was a gift that few possess. She was always there, whether in times of joy or sorrow, to lift others up and remind them that no matter how dark the world felt, there was always hope.

 

But that light was cruelly and violently snuffed out.

 

 

 

The Tragic Day

 

On that tragic day, Renee was confronted by members of the ICE organization. In a horrific incident, they not only shot her, but they also blocked paramedics from reaching her in time to save her life. Renee laid there, struggling to survive, as the people who should have protected her stood by and did nothing. I cannot begin to describe the agony we all felt when we heard the news.

 

I was left in shock, numb to the reality that the world had lost one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever known. No one should ever have to endure such violence.

A Heartbreaking Loss

 

Renee’s death has left a void in our lives that can never be filled. The pain of losing her is indescribable — her absence leaves a gap in our hearts that no one else can replace. What makes this loss even more unbearable is the fact that it could have been prevented. The people who should have ensured her safety were the very ones who took her life. Renee deserved so much more.

 

Her family, her friends, and everyone who loved her are left to grieve a senseless and violent tragedy. And as we fight through the anguish, one thing remains clear: Renee’s life mattered.
