18 U.S.C. § 111 — Assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal officers

  • Makes it a federal crime to forcibly assault, resist, oppose, impede, intimidate, or interfere with any federal officer or employee (including law enforcement agents) while they are performing their official duties.

  • Penalties vary depending on whether force is used and whether injury results.

 

18 U.S.C. § 372 — Conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer

  • Penalizes two or more people conspiring to prevent a federal officer from performing his duties by force, intimidation, or threat.
