It seems that the US has no clear, well defined and  well planed path for Venezuela situation for now.  It is highly uncertain.  

unlike post second Iraq war, Venezuela government is still intacted. 

There can be a range of outcomes from here.  

If it turns to a prolonged mess, it will not be good for mid-term.

Be patient, lets' observe how the episod is playing out. 

This is just the beginning not the end of the "Movie".
