The European Commission proposed the following legal guarantees for Belgium:
Belgium will be able to receive up to €210 billion in compensation in the event of Russia's claims;
Payments to Ukraine will be… pic.twitter.com/lxNRhUaP6M
Politicians and lawyers are a slippery bunch. For example: Belgium “will be able to receive” versus Belgium “will receive reimbursement from” _____. Belgium has always been able to receive funds. The question is who will pay them.
In fact, the Belgian PM is not referring only to the legal risk as to the risk for the country as a whole, as other EuroClear' clients will simply stop trusting Belgian financial system, and they, along with the whole of Belgium, will go bankrupt.
When it comes to money and personal responsibility, the leaders of individual European countries suddenly become less idiotic than they seem to be.
