There’s always been a large contingent of Christians who’ve sold their soul for political power and the favor of empire. Frankly, I think it vindicates Jesus who himself spoke out against the religious elite aligned with political power in his own day. It’s been the same fight for 2000 years. Definitely get in touch with one of the churches that’s actually aligned with Jesus’s teachings of resistance to empire, corruption, and hypocrisy.
