Let me tell you something about Institutional Design

US. military personnel do not serve political parties; they serve the country and the Constitution.

Military members are prohibited from publicly participating in partisan political activities, such as wearing uniforms to endorse a candidate or party.

Once in active service, military members do not engage in partisan politics.

Our institution design ensures bipartisan neutrality of the military over time.

Civilian leaders (President, secretary of defense etc.) may be partisan, but active-duty officers remain nonpartisan.

The key point: the military is under civilian control, meaning active-duty officers are subordinate to these civilian leaders, not to a political party or to other military officers.
