Grynkewich, a four-star general in charge of about 80,000 U.S. troops, has said that NATO needs to be prepared to fight concurrent conflicts with Russia and China by 2027.

He also stated that NATO forces are ready to fight now, but will be "more ready by 2027," referring to the year by which China has reportedly tasked its military to be prepared for an invasion of Taiwan.
