He is exactly what President Truman once called a “dollar-a-year man”, someone who does everything for money and nothing for principle. The way he behaved when a journalist questioned the Saudi Crown Prince about the murdered American journalist at the Saudi consulate was disgraceful. Trump betrayed his own intelligence team, and after the midterms he will effectively become a lame duck. Once that happens, normal America will return, and the country will likely move toward holding its own leaders accountable. There is already a majority in favor of taking action against Trump, and Vance will not be far behind once the political tide turns. That will be the real “popcorn season,” and Ukraine will finally receive the support it needs.
I hope Ukraine can hold on for one more year. Not only will Russia’s economy face collapse, but U.S. political leadership will also shift. If Zelensky and Europe accept this peace plan, then what did the Ukrainian people die for during these three years? They must have the courage to hold Putin,a war criminal, accountable.
