It positions itself as nonpartisan, meaning it doesn’t take political sides, but its studies often influence major U.S. government and global policy decisions.

 

It’s funded by:

  • U.S. government contracts (especially defense and health)

  • Private foundations

  • Corporations

  • International organizations

  • Public donations via the RAND Center for Nonprofit Research
