Next-generation gasoline engines: 

• Toyota is producing a new family of 1.5L and 2.0L engines under its TNGA strategy. These are designed to be smaller, lighter, and more fuel-efficient while providing increased power. 

   

Turbocharged performance engine: 

 

A 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is being developed that can produce 400 horsepower, with potential for over 600 horsepower in some applications. 

 

Dynamic Force Engine: 

 

This is a family of internal combustion engines (I3, I4, and V6) that can be combined with hybrid systems, are designed for better fuel economy and lower emissions, and can run on fuels like gasoline, ethanol, or potentially hydrogen. 

 

 

Alternative fuel engines

• Hydrogen-combustion engine: 

  Toyota is developing engines that burn hydrogen instead of gasoline. These are being tested in performance vehicles and aim to offer near-zero emissions with the sound and feel of a traditional engine. 

   

• Water-powered engine: 

  Toyota is exploring a concept for an engine that uses water to generate its own hydrogen fuel for combustion, eliminating the need for gasoline or external electricity. 

   

• Ammonia-powered engine: 

  Toyota has also developed a prototype engine that runs on ammonia, a fuel that is not gasoline or electricity.
