Why bringing a child on an Uber trip is a policy violation

Uber's Community Guidelines state that only the requesting rider and their guests are permitted in the vehicle. 

• Driver-side policy: Uber explicitly prohibits drivers from bringing friends or family members along on a trip. The rationale is to prevent any safety or liability issues that could arise from unauthorized passengers.
• Passenger-side policy: Similarly, a rider cannot bring an unaccompanied minor on a trip, and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Drivers are permitted to cancel a ride if they suspect a passenger is an unaccompanied minor.
