Russian Offensive Fails, Ukrainians Advance

Kyiv — The Russian army continues to attack along the entire front line without gaining any significant results.
The Azov detachment stationed in Dobropillia yesterday repelled a heavy enemy assault carried out with 16 heavy armored vehicles (including BMPs, MT-LBs, and tanks), aimed at breaking through Ukrainian defenses toward Myrnohrad and Razino to capture the village of Shakhove. The outcome was disastrous for the Russians, who in that failed assault lost nine infantry fighting vehicles, four armored personnel carriers, three tanks, several motorcycles, and at least 78 soldiers.
In a similarly unsuccessful offensive near Kostiantynivka, just a few days ago, the Russian army launched another 35 tanks and armored vehicles in a battalion-level mechanized attack against Shakhove and Ocheretyne, ending up losing many of them.
All Russian offensives toward Sumy have faced the same result, followed by reprisals against civilians. A Russian drone struck an entire family in the village of Krasnopillia, leaving a four-year-old girl in critical condition. Other Russian missiles repeatedly targeted the Shostka railway station and a passenger train headed for Kyiv, injuring around thirty civilians and killing two. The entire settlement remains in darkness, without water, and, being cut off from gas supplies, it is freezing. During the evacuation of survivors, the Russian Armed Forces also attacked the suburban railway lines of Tereshchynska-Novohrad-Siverskyj a second time, just as medical teams were transporting the wounded to hospitals and providing assistance to the local population. Among the victims of that barbarity are three children aged 7, 11, and 14, and their 44-year-old mother.
Russian terror is also raging in neighboring communities in Chernihiv oblast’, where several Shahed/Geran’ drones have struck the State Emergency Service fire station in Semenivka and several power plants.
From the opposite bank of the Dnipro River, which they have occupied militarily for three years, Russian forces deliberately opened fire with drones and artillery at four UNHCR trucks en route to Bilozerka, destroying several tons of humanitarian aid that the white UN convoy was transporting to refugees in Kherson. On that side, too, Russian troops have continued their offensive for the past few days but have not achieved any success.
The situation is similar in the direction of Zaporizhia, where the Russians are bleeding their own ranks, losing ground in a fruitless attempt to gain ground. Together with the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment, Ukrainian units of the 24th “Aidar” Battalion have once again raised the yellow-and-blue flag after liberating the village of Mali Scherbaky. As President Zelensky also noted, the ZSU advanced more than 3 km on the Orikhiv front. This hasn’t happened in nearly two years, since the 2023 offensive, which we documented from those very trenches.
Kupiansk remains closed to entry, as anti-sabotage operations are still ongoing in the city after the Ukrainian military repelled all Russian attempts to establish themselves there. Trapped in that hell of rubble, approximately 1,600 residents continue to lack water, electricity, gas, or other services. By searching every remaining house and cellar, the Ukrainians have prevented the Russians from establishing a foothold there, where they had prematurely boasted about imaginary advances.
Essentially, Moscow controls no territory in Kupiansk, Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, or Lyman. It is not making gains on any front, but is actually losing ground in Orikhiv and Sumy.
Looking at this situation, filled with crimes of all kinds against the Ukrainian civilians and the humanitarian missions the UN sends to support them, and the repeated invitations from the IAEA that Moscow often ignores, one wonders what else the West is waiting for. Russian drones fly over Europe’s capitals and major trading ports daily, while Moscow’s fighter jets invade its airspace. With direct hits and fragments of Russian drones and missiles falling on NATO-defended territories, we’ve lost count of these violations. Just like the breaches of all international conventions and crimes against humanity we’ve been documenting from Ukraine for years.
What more is needed to wake such distant consciences?

基辅—俄罗斯军队继续沿着整个前线进攻，但没有取得任何重大成果。
