European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen successfully defeated two no-confidence votes in the European Parliament on Thursday.
The first motion of censure, put forward by the far-right Patriots for Europe group, was rejected by a significant margin. A total of 378 EU lawmakers voted against the motion, while 179 voted in favor.
The second no-confidence vote, proposed by the parliament’s hard left group, was also defeated. This motion saw 383 EU lawmakers voting against it, with 133 voting in favor.
