President Donald Trump on Friday announced that a deal is "well on its way" with China on TikTok, and credited conservative activist Charlie Kirk as being a proponent of the popular social media platform, particularly among younger voters, that helped get him elected last fall.
"I was helped very much by Charlie Kirk," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "He was very much in favor of it and said I should use it. It had a pretty good effect on the election because we won by a lot."
