Chernivtsi — For days, several analysts and think tanks have been highlighting that the Russian Armed Forces are trying to establish aerial control with their drones over the northern outskirts of Sloviansk and the access routes to that key gateway to Donbas.
It’s good that they’ve finally acknowledged this, since we’ve been writing about it since last June.
It’s bad because they continue to do so remotely, relying on sporadic public-domain information posted online by various ‘milbloggers’, and end up assigning territories to the Russians over which they don’t exert the military pressure they actually report on their maps (Dobropillia is the most recent example), and limiting those the Ukrainians regained.
Browsing reports from The Institute for the Study of War and Deep State, to name a couple of well-known sources, we read that «the most dangerous stretch of road is now the one from Izium to Sloviansk because the effective range of Russian FPV drones is about 20–25 km.»
If that were the case, we’d almost consider ourselves lucky, since the range of those damned vultures is practically double what those ’experts’ report, also making the previous stretch of that major Donbas artery from Balakliia to Izium impassable.
Exactly on that long, nearly straight highway, back in June, a quadcopter whizzed over our press car in the opposite direction, heading directly for the military convoy behind us. The footage we managed to capture by chance is available on the website and YouTube channel of the Italian newspaper “La Ragione”.
Miraculously reaching Izium safe and sound, we had to stay under a tree for a long time because, even though it was nighttime, another Russian drone with thermal imaging cameras started circling above us, searching for human targets.
The occupation troops are trying to bypass Lyman from several directions and then advance toward Sloviansk, but they are unsuccessful.
For this reason, there has been an increase in their drone activity in recent days.
The Russians are attempting to “gray” those areas from above by attacking civilians, rescuers, ambulances, volunteers, and soldiers indiscriminately.
Yesterday alone, they hit ten vehicles. The day before, they even set fire to a civilian bus. Two days ago, a van loaded with humanitarian aid headed for Karpivka. Meanwhile, they killed 25 elderly people queuing for pensions in Yarova and brutally wounded 18 others; they struck 15 apartment buildings filled with civilians in Sloviansk and 18 in Kramatorsk, as well as a busy bar, a shop, and two moving cars.
In Semenivka, Russian drones killed a civilian inside his home yesterday. In Kostiantynivka, two more were killed and two injured in an attack that caused the partial collapse of nine houses and five apartment buildings. Swarms of Russian drones targeting Ukrainian civilians are a scourge that afflicts all oblasts on the frontline or in neighboring areas, such as Dnipropetrovsk. It was there, more precisely in the hamlet of Synelnykove, that Russian UAVs struck an ambulance, killing the 40-year-old driver.
For these reasons, the Ukrainian authorities have warned civilians not to use the stretch of the M-03 road toward Sloviansk that we just described, nor many other routes we have traveled during these three and a half years of war, such as the M-14 Kherson-Mykolaiv.
In addition to a couple of civilians burned alive in the car they were traveling in, a few hours ago, Russian drones insidiously attacked agronomist and regional council member Oleksandr Hordienko while he was working in the fields. Also in Kherson, the Russian Federation struck a checkpoint yesterday, wounding three officers aged 21, 26, and 28.
This is not the “sensational development of events” described by truly distant narrators, but the thirteen hundredth dispatch from the field that this newspaper publishes to recount a tragedy that began almost 12 years ago.

如果是這樣的話，我們幾乎會認為自己很幸運，因為那些該死的禿鷹的射程實際上是那些“專家”報告的兩倍，也使之前從巴拉克利亞到伊久姆的主要頓巴斯動脈無法通行。
