US consumers to pay the price of Trump’s tariffs

 

The US will impose an additional 25% tariff on Indian goods from Wednesday, raising duties up to 50% in response to India’s Russian oil purchases. Indian exporters expect disruptions, while economists warn US consumers will face higher costs as companies pass on tariff burdens. Goldman Sachs estimates core inflation could rise to 3.2% by December due to these levies.
