According to data from the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) and United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS):

  • In 2024, over 48,000 organ transplants were performed in the United States. This marks a 3.3% increase from 2023 and is the first time the U.S. has surpassed 48,000 transplants in a single year.

    • 41,119 of these transplants were from deceased donors.

    • 7,030 were from living donors.
