“We will be fighting China in a very friendly fashion.” 

 

This coincided with his remarks at a summit at Carnegie Mellon, where he emphasized that the U.S. would “be fighting them in a very friendly fashion,” referring to competition with China—in areas such as trade, energy, and AI—while touting a new trade deal with Indonesia  .
