据彭博社报道，马斯克表示，他一直威胁要成立的一个新政党“已经成立”。此前一天，特朗普总统签署了一项减税和支出法案，而这位特斯拉公司亿万富翁首席执行官对此表示谴责。CNBC表示“马斯克是世界首富，因此他参与任何势均力敌的政治竞选都可能具有决定性意义。”
