China military 'ready for full-scale invasion of Taiwan' as World War 3 fears surge
Military experts are now suggesting that China's army is more equipped than ever to launch a full-scale invasion of Taiwan. Beijing, under President Xi Jinping, has repeatedly expressed its desire to regain complete control over the state and hasn't shied away from indicating its willingness to use force to achieve this political goal, despite the United States sending a message to China with a show of military might near the disputed island.
In an apparent show of strength, China's army (PLA) has increased military exercises in anticipation of a potential invasion. According to Taiwan defense officials who spoke to the Financial Times, the PLA is conducting ongoing training sessions for its amphibious forces near departure points that would be utilized in an island invasion.
These officials suggest that the PLA would require only "minimal conversion time" to initiate an attack. Furthermore, Beijing has placed its army aviation units on constant readiness and has deployed a new rocket system capable of hitting any target within Taiwan. Meanwhile, Taiwan is set to reportedly mass produce 'destructive' missile as tensions with China reach boiling point.
