US to impose 104% tariff on Chinese goods from Wednesday

The United States is set to impose a 104% tariff on goods from China. The new tariff will take effect from 12:01 AM ET (0401 GMT) on Wednesday, according to a White House official. This measure comes as a response after Beijing did not remove its retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods by a Tuesday noon deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump.
