Yes, the “Security guarantee” insistence cracks me up, but it goes hand in glove with their continueing to insist Russia was the unprovoked aggressor…and in the informal presser if you could tolerate the translation, he actually explained why.
France and the other EU Nations froze Russias assets, at the start of hostilities.
Since then, they are ‘free’ to suck up the interest, and use that to loan Ukraine $, but according to “International law” (eyeroll, there really is no such thing IMHO) they can’t touch the frozen principle, until the hostilities are over, and as part of a peace agreement for Russia, AS the aggressor, to make reparations,….as Macron says “First to Ukraine, but second to the EU countries” …
So, if the false narrative that Russia was the unprovoked aggressor is dispelled, and the truth that it was the US and Ukraine, that by discussing Ukraine membership in NATO, were the aggressors, than France, etc. have no legal claim on the frozen assets, and in fact Ukraine and US owe Russia.
And thats probably why PDJT stops short of calling “Bullshyte” when they repeatedly lie, saying Russia was unprovoked aggressor…
