US and allies call for 21-day ceasefire across Israel-Lebanon border

The United States and several of its allies called Wednesday for a 21-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah across the Israel-Lebanon border as they work to prevent a regional war from erupting.

The “immediate” ceasefire across the border would “provide space for diplomacy towards the conclusion of a diplomatic settlement,” a statement from the countries read.
