As of August 29, 2024, the US real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at a 3% annual rate in the second quarter, while the growth rate for gross domestic income (GDI) was 1.3%. The difference between the two measures is a recognized issue, but averaging them can help smooth out the differences and provide a more consistent measure of economic activity.
