  • UN Security Council Resolution 82 
    In response to the invasion, the UN Security Council passed Resolution 82 on June 25, 1950, which called for North Korea to stop the invasion and withdraw its troops to the 38th parallel. The resolution was seen as a diplomatic victory for the US, but North Korea ignored it. The UN then took further action, which led to the Korean War.
