Bagram air base . Are you kidding me?
After the September 11, 2001 attacks, the U.S. and NATO inherited Bagram in 2001 and developed it into a large base that could house up to 10,000 troops. It became the epicenter of the U.S. occupation and the war against the Taliban and al-Qaeda. On July 2, 2021, the U.S. withdrew from Bagram Airfield and handed it over to Afghan forces.
