The United States is a significant importer of seafood. Much of that comes from China, Thailand, Canada, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Ecuador. And half of the imported seafood is harvested through aquaculture.

United States Imports from Japan of Meat, fish and seafood preparations was US$84.73 Million during 2022, according to the United Nations COMTRADE database on international trade.
