弗罗里达9岁儿童周四晚被绑架,现已发现死亡。

n Friday, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement cancelled an Amber Alert after a 9-yea- old boy with autism was found dead.

"The Florida Amber Alert for Alejandro Ripley has been cancelled. We are very sad to report that the child was found deceased," the Florida Department of Law Enforcement wrote on their Twitter. No additional information regarding the circumstances behind Ripley's death has been released by local authorities.

The Amber Alert was first issued on Thursday night after Ripley was abducted from his mother's car. The Miami-Dade Police Department posted a picture of Ripley on their Twitter account Thursday night.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, Ripley and his mother, identified as Patricia Ripley, were driving westbound on SW 88 Street when they noticed a vehicle following them.

"The driver of the unknown vehicle attempted to side-swipe her vehicle, forcing her to veer onto SW 158 Avenue," the Miami-Dade Police Department wrote in a press release.

According to the department's press release, after Ripley's car veered onto the side street, near a Home Depot, the other car blocked the mother and son in, and a male passenger ambushed the car demanding drugs.

"She says she does not have any drugs. And so, the passenger at that point reaches in, grabs her cell phone, steals her cell phone and takes her child," said Miami-Dade police Detective Angel Rodriguez, according to CBS 4 News in Miami.

The Miami-Dade Police Department stated that the suspects fled the scene with Ripley in a four-door blue sedan.

According to the Amber Alert, the suspects were two black males, and "one of the abductors may be wearing all black clothing and a black bandanna as a face mask. He may also have cornrows in his hair."

Authorities said residents should not approach the subjects but instead contact law enforcement immediately. Police questioned employees at the Home Depot where Ripley was abducted, as well as the boy's family. According to police, they do not believe the two men are armed and said that the mom didn't recognize either of them.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Ripley was last seen wearing a Captain America T-shirt, black shorts and black Crocs but officials have not confirmed how he died or where his body was found.

On Friday morning at around 8 a.m. Miami-Dade police officers discovered a body floating in shallow water near the Miccosukee Golf & Country Club in Miami. Officials have not yet revealed the identity of the victim and the cause of death remains under investigation.

Newsweek reached out to the Miami-Dade Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for comment or further information but did not receive a response in time for publication.
