I don't think high speed train fits Americans' need. I won't vote for building one at all.
No matter how you spin it, China is the only country who is willing to go into so much debt to build it. And I for one believe that no one is a fool in this world. If the return is worth the price tag, others would follow China's lead.
So enjoy it while you can.
