Learning to be wild 读后碎片之一

 

最近读完了这本Learning to be wild， 有几个印象深刻的碎片。

Amazon 雨林里2种鹦鹉： 绿色的小鹦鹉 (parrots)，和五彩缤纷的大鹦鹉(Macaws)

小鹦鹉的颜色是保护色，混入周围绿色雨林。这是natural selection

大鹦鹉因为个头大，天敌已经很少了。五彩缤纷是因为它们的审美，是因为它们用“美”来吸引异性。达尔文的理论也是这样：补充natural selection 的是sexual selection 

作者的理解是，美，是自然界进化的动力之一

...the world appears beautiful so that the living may love being alive in it. Life has developed-and we have inherited-a sense of the beautiful to let us feel at home in the world, without further reason
