And these are major reason why US are so competitive.

If US were going more and more toward socialism, it will lost more of its competitive edge in the future. And China is more and more toward captalism, so China will gain more and more competitve edge. In any event, captalism will win over socialism.

08 is more or less like LBJ, but someday anther Regan will come out to reverse the course.
