1. are you sure that is really the ss benefit, or just a refund of the then pre-hold ss part for the period you were in usa ?

2. are you sure your wife received a ss#, not a taxpayer id#?

3. either you or your wife maybe eligible for the ss benefits,  however, not the same time to both of you and your wife,
