请教科罗拉多四日行程安排

hi my family of 4 (2 young kids 5 and 6) decided to explore Colorado this coming memorial day weekend (lived on the east coast for a real long time and never gone west).
We will have 5 days and 4 nights.
Arriving at Denver airport by 12pm on Friday, and leaving at 4:40pm from DEN on Tuesday. So about 3 full days and 2 half days to explore.

I will really appreciate locals and experienced travellers giving me some suggestions on itinerary, places to visit and stay. We want it to be a relaxing trip, not running on the road all the time. I don't mind spending a bit more for better accomodation or organized tour.

One thing we will do is train ride, I heard about these:
Pikes Peak Cog Railway Co.
And : Royal Gorge Route Railroad
Any comment on them? Is one better than the other?

I heard about Garden of the Gods and some national parks, are some national park more impressive than others?
I appreciate any experience (postive or negative) you can share and any input you may have.

Also, any comment on car-seats rentals vs brining your own?
