USDA prime grade beef cattles are fed by corn, which makes

marble (fat) in the meat. That is why US beef is famous. However, the best beef in the world is from Japanese Wagyu cattle(黒毛和牛). It cannot be fed by all grass because that won't make excellent marbling in the meat.
