shad a couple times from asian fish market, but the fish didn't taste nearly as good as 鲥鱼 that we had at home a few times a yr while growing up; those meals were special treats. So I was pretty excited when first found it here, and it was dirt cheap, like $1.50/pound, about 2-4 pound a piece. There was some resembelence, but a very faint one. You may have better luck there with the fresh catch, although what i got from the mkt was very fresh as well.
