I went to 石尾 on several occasions as a child...
the boat ride to get there from 鼓浪屿 was always a special treat. I was perhaps too young to really appreciate the wonderful taste of 石尾红蟳, but the aroma of one sizzling in the wok stuck with me to this day. My parents spoke fondly of the crab's unique flavor and often lamented that there's nothing close to it in the United States. I've also heard that most of the seafood from back home are now of the farm-raised variety. It is a shame. I still remember the special fragrance emitted by pan-fried “黄翅阿” 鱼. Used to be able to catch them off the 鼓浪屿 ferry pier.
