failure rate for recently Maxtor HDD is very high. I purchased three new 60 G Maxtor HDD a year ago. All of them failed in the first month of usage. All problems are due to HDD internal controller, e.g., HDD can not be found by system, therefore, none of data can be recovered. But if system found the HDD, HDD works fine.

After that, I never purchase Maxtor HDD again.
