has good low light performance for indoor and night shootings.

My budget is no more than $600.

Some friends suggested that I buy camcorders with at least 20x optical zoom. But I noticed that some camcorders with only 10x optical zoom are way more expensive than those with 30x optical zoom.

How come?

Which brand has the best word-of-mouth?
