If you have a bootable cd, you can partition your hard drive to whatever your like.

After installation, use Norton Ghost backup your system, instead of backup boottable.

You can save your backup to another partition and even copy it to a cd or dvd.You can restore system with Norton Ghost when you get problem and need recovery.
