Unlock sim problem

Anybody knows how to deal with this? I was trying to unlock a Motorola V300. T-mobil sent me the unlock code with the wrong IMEI#. I tried it three times, now my phone says contacting provider. It's been an hour, it's still showing contacting without changing back. Does this mean this phone is dead forever? Your information is highly appreciated.
