Guru: Help pls - how to resolv

Hi Guru:
I made a big mistake: In W2K control panel-Add/Remove Programs, I found two items are un-recognizeable with scripted Chinese characters, so I removed one but another couldn't. This morning when I started my machine, Network Adapter and CD ROM are gone (in Device Manager). I tried to install hardware by adding them, all failed.

Before I reformat the C drive to do a complete reinstallation, is anyway I can fix this? (I have some un-reinstallable programs in the machine, reformat is really the last resort).

Any suggestions are appreciated.
