cache. Try search ".ico" file extension and see the file location in your HD first. Possible all ".ico" files were changed to default IE ico.

Another way to test is to install Firefox - browse and import IE bookmarks to see the different. May be you need to re-install IE, if you are a die-hard IE fan, realy, you don't have to.
