回复:Help: Dell 600M cannot start!!
Go to Dell forum, 600m bios discussion. You will find lots of posts complaining the overhesting problem of 600m.
Dell saw high return rate because of failure caused by memory overheating. So 600m BIOS (verion A07 and newer) will force a reduced system speed if the memory module reachs certain temperature ---- this means that all in a sudden, your P-M is running at the speed of a Pentium II the most.
Big shame on Dell, instead of fix a known problem, they do this trick.
So for older 600m with earlier BIOS, there is certain chance that its MB could get fried because of overheating.
Call Dell before warrenty expires, they know exactly what casued the problem.
