Risk in Maxtor Hardrive Tools?

Maxtor hardrive tool was used to recognized my 160GB Maxtor (which can only be recognized as 138GB without installing the hardrive tool) and 3 logical drives created. My qeustion is if the tool is uninstalled, what will happend to the 3 logical drives? Anyone has experience?
