two PCs has different download

speeds.

I have two PCs, both connected to a router, the router connected a cable modem. but this two PCs get different download speeds(the upload speed is the same). One(xp home edition) is 3 mega bit/second; the other one(windows 2000) is getting 2 mega bit/second.

can somebody here tell me what's wrong with my pc/router?
